Lately I’ve been thinking deeply about the story where Jesus & the disciples were in the middle of a storm. The disciples were in fear of the winds & the waves meanwhile Jesus was resting. They questioned Him, asking “Do you not care if we drown?” Jesus then got up and calmed the storm. The disciples were lacking faith in this storm, they doubted Jesus & who He says He is.
I’ve asked that same question so many times in my own life, more so recently.
“God why won’t you calm this storm?”
“God don’t you care that this is breaking me?”
It’s been difficult to understand why I’m in this storm, but I’m finding my peace in Christ. He is who He says He is. He is my provider, protector, refuge, strength, and so much more. In the moments where all I wanted was for the storm to be still, the Lord graciously reminded me that He knows what He’s doing. He’s been faithful since the beginning and He isn’t about to leave me now. He will work this for good. Even though I’m walking through winds & waves, I have faith because I know who is in control of this storm.
